UI/UX Designer

I worked full-time within a lean, fully-remote startup team to create a web-based app (PWA) for equestrians. Hands-on expertise in developing UX and visual design solutions for web and mobile applications in an an agile environment. Design process relied on fast sprints where ideas are flushed out quickly and iterated upon. Built with Figma and Flutter, the app was built to be responsive across mobile and web.

Challenge

Create a fully responsive management system for the equestrian industry.

I had to create an intuitive user interface that would work seamlessly with advanced features while maintaining a balance between aesthetics and functionality. Additionally, I had to ensure that the platform was scalable, secure, and user-friendly.

My primary goal with this project was to design an innovative platform that could redefine the way equestrians interact with technology. I wanted to create a product that was intuitive, responsive, and aesthetically pleasing while offering innovative features that would enhance the user experience.

Process + Design

Wireframing and prototyping in Figma.

I worked side by side with a small team of UI/UX designers and software developers. We worked on an agile cycle starting with low fidelity wireframing. The design process relied on fast sprints where ideas were flushed out quickly and iterated upon.

Result

Revolutionizing the digital landscape in the equestrian industry.

Innovating within the equestrian industry, our mobile app served as a transformative tool, seamlessly bridging the gap between riders, trainers, and enthusiasts. Designed to enhance every facet of the equestrian experience, the app offers a centralized platform for real-time communication, scheduling, and resource sharing. From coordinating training sessions and organizing events to providing valuable insights into equine health and care, 3Rein revolutionized the way individuals engage with the equestrian world.

Lessons Learned

Focus on strategy as well as design.

I really enjoy being involved at the strategy level of product design and working with the other leads to determine the problem to solve. That’s where the challenge is. Working to understand the entire project and adapting it to fit our consumer.  In every single instance, the same foundation applies: Step into the user’s role and identify the need or problem, determine what the end goal is going to be to satisfy that need, then work backwards to define the steps the user will need to take to get there. For every single industry I’ve worked in, I’ve been able to be successful following these ideas.
